Screening and discussion of three shorts in this series that amplifies the experiences of transgender people of color across the United States —on themes of immigration, healing from trauma, sexual violence, HIV criminalization, faith, and military service. Friends, food, fun - kick off the new academic year at the LGBTQA+ and Allies Community Welcome for Students on Tuesday August 28 at 6 pm in the Clark Lounge, Campus Center. Meet student leaders of the LGBTQA+ themed student groups, learn about the services of the campus LGBT Center, enjoy refreshments, learn more about the LGBTQA+ friendly campus culture here at Ithaca College and our spectacular ZAP panel program, and meet the LGBT Center director, student staff and student leaders.

Enjoy a free continental breakfast while engaging with Dr. Ednita Wright to learn about effective teaching strategies related to culture and aging.

Dr. Wright will provide a half-day interactive session with faculty focused on cultural competence in aging education. The session will engage faculty in discussion of effective teaching of aging content related to culture and aging. This session is made possible by the Finger Lakes Geriatric Education Center (FLGEC).
