Klezmer and Candy Hanukkah Shabbat

All members of the Ithaca College community are invited to attend special Shabbat services in celebration of Hanukkah. Hillel will be offering two services inside Muller Chapel, one in a Reform style, and the other in a Conservative style. Conservative style services will be organized by Kehillah, Ithaca College's Conservative Jewish community.

Guest Lecture on Ethiopan Jewry

Authentic Ethiopian food will be served on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the DeMotte Room of the Campus Center to accompany a discussion led by Simha Tamano about Ethiopian Jewry.

All are invited to attend this relaxed and insightful program which will explore the history and unique customs of Ethiopian Jews. Participants will also learn about how tens of thousands of Ethiopian Jews were airlifted to Israel in order to escape persecution.

Caring for the Sacred Other: A Conversation on Immigration, Faith, and the Borderlands

Join the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life for a conversation with Dr. Gregory Cuéllar and Nohemi Cuéllar, founders of Arte de Lágrimas: Refugee Artwork Project.

Using drawings from children released from detention on the U.S./Mexico border, the Cuéllars explore how to reclaim the sacredness of the Other in the borderlands.

Coming out is not a linear journey; just ask Hierald Osorto. Join us for a conversation with Hierald about forging intersecting identities and finding belonging as a queer Latinx person of faith. Each year the LGBT Center hosts a speaker for with ties to the campus or local community in commemoration of National Coming Out Day. In past years, highlighted speakers have included notable people in the fields of research, media, writing, the arts, advocacy and activism, and law and public policy.
