Mandala Visitor Information

Parking

Guest parking is available in the Visitor Lot located on Conservatory Drive, which is directly to the right as you enter the main entrance to campus from NYS Route 96B/Danby Road. See the map for directions. You can find a map with walking directions from the Visitor Lot to the Campus Center here.

Overflow parking will be available in O Lot if the Visitor Lot is full. Follow the directions of the Visitor Lot attendant or the signs posted on the kiosk at the entrance of the Visitor Lot. You can find a map with driving directions from the IC main entrance to O Lot as well as walking directions from O Lot to the Campus Center here

All parking lots are available for guest parking after 5 pm on weekdays and all day on the weekend, as long as the parking lot is not specifically reserved for other campus events.

All campus handicap accessible spaces are available to the general public as long as the vehicle displays a valid municipally issued handicap permit. The closest handicap parking for visitors to the Campus Center is available in E lot (north of Textor Hall) and U lot (north of Campus Center). See the map for directions.

Questions regarding parking can be directed to the Parking Services Office at parking@ithaca.edu or by calling (607) 274-3756 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Directions to Campus Center

Follow the directions on the map to Campus Center – Egbert Hall. The mandala is in the lobby of the Campus Center on the main floor of the building, directly in front of the Information Desk.

Photography and Video Recording

All spectators are welcome to take photos and videos during the construction of the mandala. We ask that you be respectful of the monks, their work, and the other visitors. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • No Flash Photography
  • Do Not Touch the Mandala
  • Do Not Enter the Area Enclosed by the Roped Barriers

While Buddhist sand mandalas are aesthetically arresting, their creation is a religious ritual and thus we ask that you please do your part to help us maintain a quiet environment out of respect for the monks and other visitors. This could involve silencing your cell phones and keeping conversations to a low volume. Thank you for your cooperation.

Dining On Campus

The nearest retail dining location is the Ithaca Bakery café located on the bottom floor of Campus Center (Egbert Hall). It offers freshly brewed coffee and tea, specialty coffee drinks, and a wide variety of soups, sandwiches, salads, bagels and baked goods. There is a kiosk at the bottom of the stairs of the café where you can place your order and pay via credit card. More information on campus dining options is available on the Ithaca College Dining website.
