I am an Indian American journalist from New Jersey. Last year, I spent my time immersed in the arts. I volunteered at Beverly J. Martin Elementary School to help young children with art projects. I also worked with Ithaca Murals to help fundraise to repaint the Underground Railroad Mural. I created a creative writing portfolio for myself, too.

Over the summer, I worked with Buffalo Street Books as a social media intern and helped them market the store and their three-day event, the Ithaca Is Books Festival. This year, I am returning to IC as a copy editor for The Ithacan, lead copy editor for Buzzsaw magazine, a producer for the ICTV show IthaTasty, and an employee at the campus library. I am also volunteering with the Finger Lakes ReUse Center and plan to work with Open Doors English, an organization that teaches ESL classes.

Now that I have declared a Deaf Studies minor, I am also learning how to incorporate ASL into my journalism to make it more inclusive. I am super excited for my second year as a Park Scholar and cannot wait to experience what this year has in store.
