Maggie McAden

As a Washington, D.C.-born military kid, I am very excited to call Ithaca home. After spending the majority of my life moving around South East Asia, I am excited to bring my passion for communication to IC.

Currently, I am an Editorial Intern for Green America, where I write articles for the nonprofit’s magazine. I am also a member of IC’s spoken word poetry club, Spit That, and the Ithaca College Women’s Rugby team — go, Renegades!

In regard to community service, I work with other Park Scholars in Megaphone, where we partner with the Syracuse Police Accountability and Reform Coalition, and I volunteer with Groundswell Center for Local Food & Farming. At Groundswell, I am working on designing a map of the Incubator Farm so that volunteers can take socially distanced tours and safely find their way around the farm.

In my free time, I can be found riding my bike on the South Hill Recreation Way! When I graduate, I hope to work in non-profit environmental communication.
