This semester I am excited to be working on the group service project megaphone. We will be working with SPAARC. Helping them to get their message across to the public. With so much racial unrest and calls for police reform I am glad to be working to help an organization that is trying to resolve the issues surrounding police brutality. I’m also excited to see how I can utilize what I’ve learned throughout my journalism education to aid SPAARC.
This semester I am also working as the Opinion Editor for the Ithacan. Through this I oversee the commentaries, columns and Editorials that are produced. While also contributing my own work to the now online paper. I’ve already learned so much and am excited to see how I grow as a journalist, through working with the Ithacan.
I am also working part-time at Aria Strategies, a non-profit consulting firm that I worked at over the summer. At this job I am able to help organizations with their branding and cultural competency. I’ve strengthened my grant writing and interpersonal skills. Meeting with clients and helping them to further their organization has taught me so much. Overall, I am excited for what the semester will bring and how I will grow as an individual.
