My name is Ajan Patel, and I’m an Indian American filmmaker from Boston, MA. Since discovering the remarkable world of film, I’ve become fixated on using my craft to tell stories about amazing people doing amazing things. Coming from an inner-city, underfunded high school, I was forced to pursue my creative endeavors on my own. I spent my time teaching myself the Adobe Suite, connecting with local organizations, and building up my portfolio.
Now as a senior, with the vast resources of Ithaca College and the Park Scholar Program at my fingertips, I’m focused on taking advantage of my final year. I will be continuing my work with Device Advice, helping elderly residents with their technological issues. I will also be working with Sustainable Tompkins with their content development. Service aside, I am currently developing my senior thesis: a documentary about the underground Hip Hop scene in my home city of Boston.
Other than that, I’m working part-time with the pharmaceutical company, BMS, as their Head Content Developer. I’m super excited to be back on campus and am looking forward to what this next year has to offer.
