I am excited to start my sophomore year by staying involved in the many opportunities available at IC and continuing my journey as a Park Scholar. During this semester, I will be able to share my passions through various activities that include The Village , WICB Radio, Women In Communications, Unbound Dance Company, HiFashionStudios, and Sister 2 Sister Club. I want to help women in a male-dominated industry, especially women of color, so they may succeed and grow in the field of communications. Using my love of advocacy for the elderly community, I am starting a podcast to bring light to the problems they face, hoping to inspire others to advocate as well. This inspiration for social justice is something I intend to display in regard to many world issues on the podcast. Working in Longview Senior Living Community will allow me to get firsthand access to how to help the elderly and understand their problems. Also on the podcast, I will be talking about the personal triumphs and struggles of college students and the Park Scholars. I believe that raising awareness and providing an outlet for unheard voices will create an understanding and inclusive community.
