Musicians are athletes too. The OT/PT Clinic offers a specified time that performing artists can come and discuss with a physical therapist concerns regarding pain/injury they are experiencing relating to performing. Appointments are on a first come first serve basis. The therapist completes a screen to see if further medical attention is needed.
Referrals
Occupational Therapy Services require a physician referral in order to be treated. Physical Therapy services may be delivered on a limited direct access basis.
Costs/Insurance
All OT/PT Clinic services are free, and therefore no insurance information is necessary.
Clinicians
The OT/PT Clinic is staffed by faculty from the Departments of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. All services are provided by New York State licensed physical and occupational therapists.
The Clinic also also serves as an integral component of the curriculum for occupational therapy and physical therapy students by providing: clinical experiences and patient demonstrations for many of the clinically oriented courses, an environment for conducting clinical research, and interdisciplinary clinical in-services. Current OT/PT students may take elective courses working with patients under the direction of a faculty member. Current OT/PT students are also hired as student workers to assist in daily operations.
