Graduate Student Internships

Internships for graduate students in exercise science opting for a non-thesis option with an internship

Thesis or Non-Thesis Option with Internship?

Graduate students who want to emphasize theoretical learning are advised to pursue the thesis option while those with a clinical orientation should consider the non-thesis option with an internship. The Internship provides students with a supervised work experience in an organization or athletic team related to the student's concentration in the master's degree program. Approval and support of a graduate faculty sponsor and the graduate chair are required, and prerequisite coursework may be needed.

Students who wish to complete an internship should discuss the options with the graduate chair or a graduate faculty member in the department well in advance of the start date.
