The FIRST Place RLC is open to any student who identifies as first-generation regardless of class year.

Open to all students with a purpose to live with like-minded individuals and/or those who are wanting to learn more about the First Generation/BIPOC student experience, history of BIPOC movements and First-Generation Resources.
Jumpstart

A Place Where YOU Belong: The First Gen & BIPOC Student Experience is a JUMPSTART pre-orientation experience run by the Office of Student Engagement, led by professional Staff of the BIPOC Unity Center. This offering is open to all students who want to learn more about the First Gen and BIPOC student experience, history, and movements, and learn about IC campus resources in a supportive cohort style model.

Unity Fridays is a monthly event hosted by the BUC meant to build community and create a culturally validating space for IC students.

As part of our commitment to student success and holistic development, we propose hosting an annual retreat designed to provide students with enriching experiences, meaningful connections, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Purpose: The BIPOC Unity Center Retreat aims to:
- Build Community: Foster a sense of belonging and solidarity among BIPOC students through shared experiences and dialogue.
- Empower Students: Provide tools, resources, and insights that empower students to thrive academically, socially, and professionally.
- Cultural Enrichment: Celebrate and explore diverse cultures, histories, and identities through curated activities and excursions.
