Small Grant for Course Development or Redesign Application

Overview

This program offers grants of up to $300 to support faculty in acquiring materials that directly enhance teaching and learning. Eligible expenses include books, digital resources, software, laboratory supplies, or other tangible items used in course instruction. This grant is intended for the purchase of supplies only; it does not provide compensation for faculty time, stipends, or support for pursuing advanced degrees. Priority is given to proposals that enrich course quality and promote student engagement. Faculty are encouraged to use this fund to pilot innovative teaching ideas, with the understanding that if the project is successful, they should plan to incorporate ongoing costs into their department budget. Recurring expenses are not eligible for repeated grant funding.

Eligibility

Small grants are available to all Ithaca College faculty.

Proposal Process

Applications should include the following:

  • Course title
  • Semester course will be taught
  • Specific resources needed
  • Description of how the course will benefit from the award

Small grant awards are determined by the CFE Director(s).

Reporting and Inspection

No reporting is necessary. Submission of a proposal implies permission to share the proposal or reproduce it for on-campus discussion if it is funded.
