Here are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions:
Q. What is the purpose of this DEI Course?
A. As an academic community, Ithaca College is committed to providing an environment that encourages scholarship and personal growth. Students are expected to develop maturity, self-sufficiency, responsibility, self-understanding, and an understanding of and respect for the rights of others. This course is a first step towards talking about our community values and putting our college diversity statement in action.
Q. Does the course collect personal information about my feelings, attitude, and behaviors around diversity, equity, and inclusion?
A. The course includes confidential surveys to help personalize your experience and to measure attitudes and behaviors in our student population. ALL SURVEY RESPONSES ARE CONFIDENTIAL. IC will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will never see an individual student's answers.
Q. What if I have technical problems with completing the course on my computer?
A. The DEI course works best on either Firefox or Chrome, so if you're using a different internet browser, you should consider making a temporary change for the purpose of completing the course. Free versions of Firefox and Chrome can easily be downloaded off the internet. For accessibility issues, select “Accessibility Mode” once you are in the course. Personalized technical support is available 24/7 via chat or phone. To access the Everfi Support Center, simply click on "Help" once you're in the course, or go directly to this link: support.everfi.com.

Q. I am a transfer student. Do I need to complete this?
Q. I am a parent/caregiver of an incoming student. Do I have to complete the course?
A. No. there is no required course for parents and caregivers.
Q. What about students who do not have easy access to computers at home or in their community?
A. We ask that you consider all the possibilities for accessing a computer. A friend or family member may be willing to let you use their computer for this purpose. The course can be completed on a computer, iPad, or tablet with access to the internet and audio capabilities.
