Our activities particularly seek to engage and empower community members impacted by racism, redlining, and colonization, and families from disadvantaged backgrounds. We support black community members of Central New York that wish to access land and farm. Areas of focus include: BIPOC farming, black-led land access, food sovereignty, literacy, and sustainable agriculture outreach.

Durland Alternatives Library Library and Creative Writing Coordinator  The Prisoner Express program, sponsored by the Durland Alternatives Library, promotes rehabilitation by offering inmates information, education and the opportunity for creative self-expression in a public forum. Participation in this program fosters self-exploration, enrichment and knowledge. The Durland Alternatives Library has a number of ongoing programs as parts of its Prisoners Express project
South Hill School Age Program Teacher's Aide The South Hill School Age Program, Inc. provides safe, high quality care for children in kindergarten through fifth grade in a warm and nurturing environment. We encourage respect for ourselves and others, and provide opportunities in recreation, art, science, multicultural education, music, and many other areas of interest. The Program's purpose is recreational, with many opportunities for learning without the structure of a classroom environment. Children are given individual choices through the daily schedule, and we also encourage and provide daily quiet time for the purpose of doing homework.

Health Services Intern  Our philosophy is based on the premise that addiction is a treatable disease that has biological, psychological, social and spiritual components. Accordingly, we have designed our treatment programs to address the four factors listed above that promote the addiction process. We take pride in our ability to offer customized counseling services to our clients. When you visit us, you can expect to receive courteous and respectful interaction with our professional staff. Initially, each client will receive a comprehensive evaluation, which is a carefully designed history of the client’s strengths and areas that need change to promote recovery from the addictive process. Based on the comprehensive evaluation, the professional counseling team will design a course of treatment based on the needs of the individual.
