Sheehy Gives Advice on Growing Up and Growing Old

Gail Sheehy, renowned political journalist and author of four widely read books on advancing through life’s passages, shared her insights on milestone events in an address at the College’s 106th Commencement.

Board of Trustees Appoints Three New Members

At its May meeting the Ithaca College Board of Trustees elected three new members, reelected four, and awarded honorary status to another two.

Board Elects New Chairman, Vice Chairman

The top two posts on the Ithaca College Board of Trustees have changed hands. At its May meeting the board elected William Haines as chairman and Larry Alleva 71 as vice chairman for one-year terms.

College Appoints New Registrar

Christopher Knauer, an Ithaca College graduate and former assistant registrar, will be returning to his alma mater as the new registrar. He will begin his duties June 13, replacing John Stanton, who is retiring in May after 26 years in that office.

Three Faculty Members Receive Awards of Excellence

At the annual recognition and awards banquet held on May 15, three faculty members were honored for their outstanding accomplishments in teaching, service, and scholarship.

Rod Serling Exhibit Dedicated

Located on the first floor of the library, the exhibit features three cases of scripts, awards, and artifacts from the Rod Serling Archives at Ithaca College.

Brian McAree Named Student Affairs Vice President

McAree has 24 years of experience in student services and has served since May 2000 as acting vice presidentl.

Biology Major Awarded Goldwater Scholarship

Wendy Clement is among the undergraduates chosen from a national pool of 1,164 applicants for the Goldwater Scholarship for the 2001-2 academic year. .

Graduating Senior Wins Phi Kappa Phi Award of Excellence

Sarah Gates, a senior psychology major and dance minor, has won a Phi Kappa Phi Award of Excellence for the 2001-2 school year.
