Important OSE Recognized Student Organization Updates

By Mary Holland-Bavis, January 25, 2022

Happy New Year! Below you'll find some student organization updates:

Spring 2022 Guidelines:

To answer the most asked question so far this year: yes, you can meet and hold events this semester. Here you'll find an overview of Spring 2022 guidelines. Obviously things can change, so don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Health & Safety Officer Workshops:

Every student organization recognized by the Office of Student Engagement must designate a member of their organization as the Health & Safety officer. This individual may hold several roles within the organization or hold this role independently. This individual will hold ultimate responsibility for oversight of health and safety at events. The purpose of this workshop is to provide an overview of the health & safety expectations for student organizations for the Spring 2022 semester. I will be facilitating this with friends from the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management. Below are the two live sessions we will be holding remotely (RSVP below to receive zoom link). We will record and post on our website following the workshops.

Tuesday, January 25 at 12:10 - 1 pm

Friday, January 28 at 12:10 - 1 pm

Student Org. Fair:

The Spring 2022 Student Organization Fair will be Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 10am-3pm in Emerson Suites. We're inviting student organizations to sign up to promote their events, recruit new members and showcase their student organization. All Office of Student Engagement and Campus Recreation organizations will be given priority and are able to sign up starting today. Due to COVID restrictions, the number of organizations allowed will be limited therefore space will be granted on a first come, first serve basis. Sign up here.

Posting Events on Engage:

As a reminder, every student organization must post their events on IC Engage. When you post an event on Engage, you have the option to post to the IC Events Calendar, you must click that as well as a part of this requirement. *The Office of Student Engagement has begun an initiative where students each week will receive an e-mail inviting them to attend events based upon their personal interests. This will be done through the event categories tab, so we invite you to choose as many categories as appropriate. The options that are located on the event form are found below to consider:
