Suspicious Activity Reported Near Ithaca College Campus

The Ithaca College Office of Public Safety received a report Monday afternoon of suspicious activity that occurred on Coddington Road near the back entrance to campus in the early morning hours of September 25, 2023. According to the report, an individual was seen on Coddington Road in possession of a knife while looking through the windows of vehicles. The individual did not threaten anyone directly.

Witnesses described the suspect as being a male in his early to mid twenties, 5’ 7” to 5’ 10” tall, with brown curly hair and some facial hair. He was wearing grey sweatpants with a red or orange hooded sweatshirt. The suspect was last seen on the 200 block of Coddington Road and fled northbound.

In a message to the community on September 12, 2023, Public Safety provided information about a rash of thefts from vehicles on and near campus. While it is undetermined at this time if there is any connection to this incident, we want to remind the community to be diligent, lock your vehicle doors, secure your belongings, and keep valuables out of sight. We also want to remind you of some important personal safety information to keep in mind at all times when out and about both on campus and in the local community.
