“Young Concert Artists’ track record for spotting the best new talent in classical music is legendary.”
–THE NEW YORK TIMES

The Angela and William Haines Young Concert Artists Residency was established at Ithaca College in 2019 and aims to bring recent winners of the prestigious annual  Young Concert Artists International Auditions to our campus once every semester, to perform for and work with our students and college community.

For the Spring 2024 residency, accordionist Hanzhi Wang will perform a concert of works by Astor Piazzolla, Lili Boulanger, and more, including pieces written both by and for the performer.

Wang will also give a master class on Wednesday, February 14 at 6:00 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall.

Acclaimed for her “staggering virtuosity,” Hanzhi Wang is the only accordionist to ever win a place on the roster of Young Concert Artists in its 60-year history. An ambassador for her instrument, Hanzhi has been praised for her captivating stage presence and performances that display passion and finesse.

Concert and master class are both, as always, FREE and open to the public, through the generosity of Angela and William Haines.
