Contributed by Brittany McCown on 10/14/19

View printable version

Are you a student who identifies as a member of the African Diaspora, Latinx, Asian, Native American, or any combination of these? The BEING group provides a safe place to process the complex thoughts and emotions that commonly arise from the experience of being Students of Color in a predominantly white environment.

Through discussion within the group, you will have the opportunity to find validation, insights, motivation, and connections among fellow ALANA students. The group will also focus on self-care, and creating healthy responses to challenging situations of racism to help you thrive during your time at IC and beyond.

  • Tuesday common hour (12-1),Tuesdays, 10/15 10/29, 11/12, 12/1  (no group 11/26, skip for Thanksgiving break)
  • Thursday evenings 5:30-6:30, Thursdays, 10/24, 11/7, 11/21, 12/5

Both groups will be held in the Center for IDEAS Lounge.
