NPR Awards Television-Radio Students Honorable Mention

National Public Radio has awarded Television-Radio Senior Students Chris Ashe, Gavin Berger, and Leah Ettinger, an “Honorable Mention” award for the History of Famous Phrases episode of their podcast, This Strange World.

The competition drew several hundred entries from universities and colleges throughout the country. Ms. Ettinger who is doing an independent study on podcasting production and promotion, with Professor Steve Gordon, partnered with Berger and Ashe in creating the award-winning series. The idea began as a final project in the Topics in Media Technology course, taught by Professor Lauren Britton-Steele.  The trio has produced 38 episodes of the podcast, which has over 3,300 downloads.
