Jones is an expert in language and language development; language development in children with disorders; bilingual phonological development; disorders and treatment factors.
He is the director of the Collaborative Language Research Laboratory in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. The lab investigates aspects related to language development and disorders in children and young adults, including word learning, phonological development, and the interface between the two. Current experiments include a treatment study with intensity as a factor, a word learning experiment with college students, and a survey regarding autism awareness amongst students in healthcare disciplines.
