Ithaca College Schedules Events for Suicide Awareness Week

 ITHACA, NY — Using the theme “We Are All Connected,” the Ithaca College Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will hold a series of events for Suicide Awareness Week, September 19–22. All of the events are free and open to the public.

Monday, Sept. 19
7 p.m., Textor 101
“The Truth about Suicide: Real Stories of Depression in College,” a film produced for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention that presents a recognizable picture of depression and other problems associated with suicide as they are commonly experienced by college students and other young adults.

Tuesday, Sept. 20
7 p.m., Textor 101

“Crap Shoot: Aftermath of My Son’s Suicide,” a talk by Mardis Kelsen.

Wednesday, Sept. 21
7 p.m., Textor 101

“Pathways,” a workshop empowering you to recognize and respond to someone in distress.

Thursday, Sept. 22
7 p.m., Clark Lounge, Egbert Hall

Support Group — Remembering Friends & Loved Ones Who Died by Suicide.
