About Dr. Richardson:
Roger (Doc) Richardson joined IC in January 2000. He has served in a variety of capacities at Ithaca College, including his most recent position of associate provost for diversity, inclusion, and engagement. Prior to his current positions, Doc served as associate vice president for academic and student affairs/dean for the first year experience (2006–2015); assistant vice president for student affairs and campus life (2002–2006); and director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs (2000–2002). Prior to his work at IC, he held positions at New York University, Dartmouth College, Cornell University and the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
In his current position, he oversees the Offices of Student Leadership & Involvement, First Year Experience, Multicultural Affairs, Student Programs and Outreach, College Chapel and the Campus Center. He and his colleagues work to integrate students into the life of the college and support their personal and academic success.
Doc is an active volunteer in the Ithaca area and beyond. He currently sits on the New Roots Charter School Board of Trustees in Ithaca, and the University of Wisconsin-Stout Foundation Board. He has served on the Ithaca City School District Board of Education (2003–2006), and The History Center's Board of Trustees (2006–2012). Doc enjoys boating, fishing and watching college and professional basketball.
Doc holds a PhD in higher education administration from the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University and a MS in counseling and BS in psychology from University of Wisconsin-Stout.
