Classes will be held Monday through Friday. Your day will start with a morning discussion focused on a particular technology topic, then you’ll break for lunch where you can get to know other program participants and soon to be new friends. The afternoon is time for hands-on learning experiences applying what you learned that morning, field trips to places such as Cornell University’s Virtual Embodiment Lab, and conversations with IC alumni who are working to advance the way we interact with technology. After dinner, you can take advantage of open lab time or join in on lectures, a hack-a-thon, and other fun and educational campus events. Then you’ll head to your room in one of IC’s residence halls for the night.
A (not so) typical day.
Make connections.
You’ll engage with faculty, current IC students, and your peers regularly during the week. The Department of Computer Science at Ithaca College is a tightknit, collaborative, and supportive community, something you’ll experience for yourself during your time on campus. In addition, free periods are an opportunity to meet and interact with students from across the country who are participating in other pre-college programs operating on campus.
Prepare for your next big move.
While you learn something awesome, have the time of your life, and find out what technology—and college—can be, you’ll also be building the skills you’ll need for the years ahead, including critical thinking, time management, networking, and staying open to new experiences.
