What clubs/organizations are you involved in?

I’ve worked on ICTV since my freshman year on a variety of shows in positions from assistant producer to editor. I’m also on the executive board for IC Theatre Lab, technical directing the productions. I’m a mentor for freshmen and transition students in IC Ambassadors, and I also write for IC’s Distinct magazine.

Have you been engaged in research, internship opportunities, student teaching, or conferences?

I made a connection with my advisor early on in my IC career, and I’ve been fortunate enough that he has already helped me secure an internship and possibly two for this summer!

Why did you choose Ithaca College?

I chose IC because of how quickly I was going to be able to start gaining experience in my major. I had toured schools where they said it would take as long as junior year to get my hands on a camera, and when I toured IC, they told me I could be on a TV show in my first week. Instead of waiting to be a junior, I had support FROM the juniors in working on all of my creative endeavors. From writing articles my first semester to assistant producing my sophomore year, I’ve had so many opportunities at Ithaca—beyond what I could ever have imagined.

Is there anything else you would want to share with a prospective student?

When you know where you’re meant to go, you’ll know. Ithaca is that home for me and being so fortunate as to have TWO places to call home is something I never thought would happen to me. Know that if you are considering Ithaca, you already have an entire community in your corner, supporting you in following your dreams.
