Major: Music Education- Voice
What clubs/organizations you are involved in?
- I am a part of IC Defy Dance Company on campus, where I am both a member and the Co-Social Media Chair for the company! I have also danced with IC Unbound Dance Company as well!
- I have been involved with and attended many events sponsored by IC’s chapters of NAfME (National Association for Music Education) and ACDA (American Choral Director’s Association)
- I am an Orientation Leader on campus!
Are you involved in IC athletics?
Dance is the main sport I participate in on campus, which is a part of club sports. I also love going to the Athletics and Events Center for open lap swim when I have some free time to get a little extra exercise!
What is the best class that you've taken so far, and why?
The best class I have taken so far at IC is a class called Classroom Instruments. The class is required for vocal music education majors and teaches us how to teach students instruments that you would play with them in a general/elementary music classroom, such as recorder, ukulele, and a few percussion instruments. I know every time I walk into that class I’m always going to smile and have a good time.
Is there anything else you would want to share with a prospective student?
Applying to college can be a long and stressful process. Know that everything is going to be okay, and that time management and self-care are going to be your best friends. Also, do not be hesitant to reach out to current students to ask questions! Talking to current students is the best way to see what campus life is really all about and can help you choose the school that is best for you!
