Ithaca College’s Endowment

At the close of the fiscal year on June 30, 2025, Ithaca College’s endowment portfolio had a market value of $437.1 million.

The endowment is critical to the college and is a necessary source of cash for the institution’s operational needs, which grow and change over time. It also provides students with the assistance they need to matriculate. During the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, Ithaca College received generous gifts to the endowment totaling $5.7 million. The endowment's pooled investments experienced net investment returns of $44.1 million (11.4%).

The Finance and Investment Committee of the Ithaca College Board of Trustees ("Committee") has oversight over the endowment and has retained the services of an Outsourced Chief Investment Officer ("OCIO") to manage the endowment's pooled assets. The Committee, the OCIO, and the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer continuously monitor the pooled asset portfolio.

The annual spend rate from the portfolio is approved a year in advance by the Board of Trustees. For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, the effective spending rate was 4.5% of the average quarterly fair value of its pooled investment portfolio, resulting in $16.1 million in funds distributed for operations.

Only through the commitment and generosity of Ithaca College alumni, donors, and friends can this endowment remain healthy and provide a high level of support for not only the college’s operations but also its students’ experiences. Thank you for making so many things possible at Ithaca College. We are profoundly grateful.
