IC's Core Educational Technology Tools

The following tools are the core software systems used across campus and available for use by IC Students, Faculty and Staff.

  • Canvas Community - Manage all of your course content and materials through the LMS. Visit the Canvas Community for more information.

  • iClicker- Student Response System for engagement, assessment, and attendance

  • Leganto - From Ex Libris, Leganto is a tool that enables you to easily create, maintain, evaluate, and share course resource lists in Canvas (look for Course Readings in your Canvas course navigation).

  • LinkendIn Learning - Professional networking and online learning modules available to all current faculty, staff, and students who want to expand their skills and knowledge. 

  • media.ithaca.edu (Kaltura) - Video creation, hosting, and live-streaming. Custom playlists, channels, and video-based quizzes. 

  • NVivo 14 - Qualitative data analysis software (available by special request, email servicedesk@ithaca.edu)

  • Office 365 - Productivity tools including Calendar, Email, Teams, Word, PPT, Excel, OneDrive, OneNote

  • Optical Scanning - Self-service scanning of multiple-choice tests

  • Padlet - Collaborative virtual bulletin board and creative digital projects

  • SPSS - Quantitative data analysis software

  • Taskstream by Watermark - Student ePortfolio system - discontinued May 2024 - See Watermark Assessment tools

  • VoiceThread - Asynchronous discussion, video, and collaborative learning tool 

  • Zoom - Videoconferencing tool for remote teaching and presentations
