News for Staff

A little change makes a difference. Did you know parents/caregivers can:

  • reduce their LGBTQ child’s risk for suicide and other serious health concerns?
  • increase their LGBTQ child’s self-esteem and hope for the future?

How? By adopting some behaviors research has identified and measured to show their LGBTQ children that they love them, they want to support them and to help decrease their health risks.

There are more than 50 behaviors can increase your LGBTQ child's health and well being. Find out what you can do from the Family Acceptance Project, in English and in Spanish.

Join IC Staff Council’s Employee Engagement Committee in JUNE 2020 for a month of fun activities.  Get to know colleagues across campus and share what you’re doing. Each week, there has been a different focus and/or group of activities.  Week 4 is about showing we might be physically distanced, but there are plenty of ways we can enjoy each other's company virtually as part of the IC family.

Please help us reach our $500 goal to support local students/teachers.  As COVID-19 led to school closures, Staff Council's Employee Engagement committee focused on what we might do to assist in some way. The Ithaca Public Education Initiative (IPEI) helped us identify a funding request they had received that aligned with criteria we outlined:  A) Student/Education focused B) Supports remote/at home learning, and C) Art-related.

Since we started, some art supplies have already been distributed. With your help we can fulfill our goal to reach more students.  It only takes a minute to donate: weblink.donorperfect.com/IPEIIC2020. Any amount ($5 or whatever you are able to give) is truly appreciated.

Consider a donation as a graduation gift to honor a student or as an end of year gift to honor their teacher.  Any/all gifts will be used to support grant requests.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!
