Early Arrival Process for Fall Semester

You must receive prior approval by the Office of Residential Life in order to move-in outside of your class year's move-in days.

  • First Year students can select move-in appointments for Wednesday, August 21, 2024
  • Upper Years students can move-in on Saturday, August 24 or Sunday, August 25, 2024

Requests based on employment, athletics, academics, or other campus involvement

Your early arrival request must be submitted by your employment supervisor, coach, academic advisor, or other IC staff or faculty member. Requests will be approved when possible, depending on reason and availability of the specific room or apartment assignment. Your employment supervisor, coach, academic advisor, staff or faculty member should refer to Intercom for a message about the Early Arrival process toward the end of June. The Residential Life Office will submit an Early Arrival Request for summer employees moving from their summer room to their fall room. The early arrival request form will go live in IC Workflow on Monday, June 24, 2024.

Requests based on Personal Reasons

If you have a need to move-in earlier due to extenuating circumstances, submit an early arrival request form and be as specific as possible when explaining the reason that you are requesting to arrive early.  Do not make travel arrangements until you have received a response, as  requests may not be able to be granted. The early arrival request form will go live in IC Workflow on Monday, June 24, 2024.

No IC moving assistance or moving supplies (such as carts or dollies) are available during early arrival check-in.  For dining hours, locations, and other information, please visit the Ithaca College Dining website

Only students with prior approval may move-in early.

Unauthorized Presence

Students found in a closed residence hall or apartment who are unapproved prior to the published opening time are subject to immediate removal from the building, a student conduct referral, and a $100.00 fine.
