Due to the pandemic, early arrival housing is not available for the 2020-2021 academic year.
You must receive prior approval by the Office of Residential Life through the Early Arrival Request Form system in order to check into your housing assignment before residence halls and apartments official open. You must have a Fall housing assignment before you may submit an early request form.
Requests based on employment, athletics, academics, or other campus involvement
Your early arrival request must be submitted by your employment supervisor, coach, academic advisor, or other IC staff or faculty member. Requests will be approved when possible, depending on reason and availability of the specific room or apartment assignment. The Summer Housing Office will submit an Early Arrival Request for summer employees moving from their summer room to their fall room.
Requests based on Personal Reasons or travel conflict
You may submit an individual Fall Early Arrival Request Form. Residence halls and apartment areas are still being prepared during this time period which impacts when early arrivals can be granted. Please be specific when explaining the reason that you are requesting to arrival early. Do not make travel arrangements until you have received a response, as many requests are not able to be granted.
No moving assistance or moving supplies (such as carts or dollies) are available during early arrival check-in, except for the move-in of the Jumpstart program for first-year students. Move-in assistance typically is available in first-year residence halls on the official move in day for first-year students. If you are approved to check in on any other day, please plan to provide your own moving supplies. For dining hours and locations, please visit the Ithaca College Dining website.
You may not check into your fall housing assignment prior to the date you are approved to arrive. Only students on the list of approved early arrivals will be allowed to check in on these dates. Early Arrival check-in locations may include:
Terraces and Towers residents: Terrace 7 Area Office
Emerson, Garden Apartments, and Quads (Bogart, Boothroyd, Clarke, Eastman, Hilliard, Holmes, Hood, Landon, Lyon, Rowland, Tallcott) residents: Eastman Area Office
Circle Apartment residents: Circles Community Center
Students with an on campus Fall assignment
If you would like to return to campus prior to the official Spring semester opening, you may return to your Fall assignment as part of our Break Housing options by submitting a break housing registration form.
Students Who did not live on campus during the fall semester
Early Arrival requests are required for students who did not live on campus during the Fall semester and are required to check in to your Spring housing assignment earlier than the published Spring semester check-in date. You must receive written approval from the Office of Residential Life to arrive early. The earliest date you may request is the Thursday prior to the published residence hall opening date for the Spring semester.
If you are required to arrive early due to on campus employment in an essential office, athletics, or academics, the early arrival request must be submitted by your employment supervisor, coach, or academic school. Requests will be approved when possible, depending on reason and availability of the specific room or apartment assignment. Students approved to return early will receive an email, with information about testing and their move-in.
Students found in a closed residence hall or apartment who are unapproved prior to the published opening time are subject to immediate removal from the building, a student conduct referral, and a $100.00 fine.
