When each Health and Safety check is complete, the inspection form is submitted to your Residence Director (RD). They will notify you of any Residential Life Rules and Regulations violations found and the date by which your room needs to come into compliance (in the case that staff were not able to remove the item during the check).
As part of the September check, your Resident Assistant (RA) will explain to you what violations, if any, were found and what must be done to come into compliance. There will be no fines or student conduct sanctions for violations found during the September check unless you fail to come into compliance by the date specified (in the case that staff were not able to remove the item during the check) or are involved in subsequent violations.
During future checks, if the same violation exists or if new violations are found, all of the residents of the room/apartment will be referred to Student Conduct and subject to the applicable fine.
Student Conduct consequences are dependent on the severity of the violation and a student's prior student conduct history. Additionally, consequences escalate with subsequent violations. Fines remain static with each violation receiving a $25.00 fine.
