Scholarships Available

Athletic Training and Exercise Science Students Only

The following scholarships are available for students majoring in Athletic Training or Exercise Science and are awarded on the basis of financial need (unless noted otherwise).

To be considered for any scholarship, you must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Professor Karl K. and Marjorie Klein Endowed Scholarship

Awarded to sophomores, juniors, or seniors in the Departments of Exercise and Sport Sciences, Health Promotion and Physical Education, and Recreation and Leisure Studies who show outstanding academic performance and expertise in the basic sciences.

Who can apply: Rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors

Dean William B. Koch Endowed Scholarship

Awarded to a senior in the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences. The student must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and provide evidence of scholarship activity in professional organizations and/or academic research in areas relating to exercise and sport sciences. Financial need is not required. Established in memory of Dean William B. Koch by family and friends.

Richard and Helen Lyon Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to students in the Departments of Exercise and Sport Sciences, Health Promotion and Physical Education, Sport Management and Media, and Recreation and Leisure Studies who plan to pursue careers in teaching. Established by gifts of alumni and the family and friends of Coach Dick Lyon and his wife, Helen.

Brian Truhn '69 Scholarship

Awarded to a student in the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences, Health Promotion and Physical Education, Sport Management and Media, or Recreation and Leisure Studies who plans to pursue a career in coaching.

Merton J. '35 and Helen Roberts Scholarship

Awarded to students with demonstrated financial need in the Departments of Exercise and Sport Sciences, Health Promotion and Physical Education, Sport Management and Media, and Recreation and Leisure Studies. Established in memory of Merton J. Roberts by family and friends.
