Are you involved in Leadership Scholars/MLK Scholars/Park Scholars/STEM Scholars/BOLD Programs?

I am a Martin Luther King Scholar. Within this program, I had the opportunity to interact and formulate bonds with other scholars who share a similar interest. MLK has provided me with access to an extensive support system. In this program I receive mentoring, financial assistance, career guidance, develop excellent networking skills and additional experiences that assist me in becoming more aware of my past and my culture. I participated in a Civil Right Tour as a first-year student, and I made a connection that will forever stay with me mentally. It allowed me to become more sensitized and eager for more knowledge that will be a platform for how I govern my accomplishments.

Why did you choose Ithaca College?

Choosing Ithaca was not a hard decision for me. After analyzing all the financial aid packages and scholarships that I got from numerous colleges, Ithaca captivated my attention. Ithaca introduced me to boundless opportunities where I could see myself thriving personally and professionally. I realized then that it could become my home away from home. The decision came about after participating in “Admitted Students’ Day” and "MLK weekend." From these events I developed meaningful connections with students, faculty, and stuff whom I know would serve as my support system throughout college. The environment was also another factor. Exploring is solace for me and the Ithaca environment is a great place to delve in when unleashing.
