Graduate Picture Information

Ithaca College has partnered with local vendor, Island Photography, to provide comprehensive coverage of this year’s Graduate Hooding and Commencement ceremonies. Your graduate will have two picture opportunities taken during the ceremony. The first photo opportunity will be taken when the graduate is on stage with a chance for both a posed and action shot. The second photo opportunity will be a posed picture immediately following graduate’s exit of the stage. These photos will be made available for purchase within two weeks following the ceremony with instructions provided in an email directly to Class of 2021 graduates.

Commencement & Graduate Hooding - Participating Virtually

Graduates who are participating in Graduate Hooding or Commencement virtually should start by accessing the virtual ceremony Zoom meeting approximately 30-45 minutes prior to the scheduled start time for the ceremony. At that time, you will be able to access your unique link to join the Ceremony Zoom Meeting, which was sent via email and will require you to login with your IC Netpass credentials. Please note that this link is unique to you and should not be shared with anyone else!

If you have any issues reaching your unique link to join the Ceremony Zoom Meeting, please contact mydegree@ithaca.edu.

It is important that you read carefully through the list of instructions that will be provided at the link to ensure that you are able to join the event and have a quality virtual experience. Some important reminders to consider are:
• Please start your video immediately upon entering the Ceremony Zoom Meeting so that you can verify your camera is functioning properly.
• It is recommended to participate in “Speaker View” during the event.
• When your turn to appear live on screen is approaching, you will receive a prompt in the center of your Zoom screen alerting you to start your video. Please turn on your camera at this time. Although you will still not be visible to the viewing audience, you are now just moments away from your live moment and should not turn your camera off until after you have been featured!
• When you see your camera and name appear in the “Ithaca College Program” spotlighted video YOU ARE NOW LIVE! You will have approximately 10 seconds to smile, wave, take a bow, or hold up a sign to celebrate your achievement! Please be advised that the broadcast to the general public will be on tape delay and any inappropriate signs, gestures or backgrounds will not be shown. These actions will result in you being removed from the Ceremony Zoom Meeting and you not being recognized on the live stream.

Senior Splash - Details for In Person Participants - May 20, 2021

You will be expected to report outside of the Handwerker Gallery promptly at the check-in time sent to you via email and follow on-site signage to the check-in location. Please be prepared to display a “Green” IC Health Badge in order to participate in the event. Prior to Senior Splash, on Saturday, May 15 and Sunday, May 16, you can pick-up your Senior Splash t-shirt in the size specified on your RSVP form in the Campus Center Lobby between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Individuals who are unable to pick-up their shirt at this time will be able to receive their shirt at check-in on the day of the event. During the event, you will also be provided with an inflatable that you MUST use while in the Dillingham Fountains.

We ask that participants only bring necessary belongings to Senior Splash. No bags (unless needed for containing personal medication) are allowed. Any personal items including cell phones and other small personal items will be placed in a provided labeled bag at check-in that will be held at the check-out area for re-distribution at the conclusion of the event. Ithaca College is not responsible for any personal belongings that have been lost, stolen, or damaged during the event.

Public health measures must be observed at all times during the course of the event, including wearing a face covering and maintaining at minimum six feet of physical distancing.

Please note that we plan to have a livestream of the event for supporters to view on the Ithaca College YouTube Channel. We encourage our graduates and supporters to subscribe to this channel so that you will get a push notification for when the channel goes live. Because of the lengthy duration of this year's Senior Splash, the college is only able to livestream the first (10:00 a.m. EDT) and last (4:00 p.m. EDT) of the five cohorts of students.

Social Media

If you are posting photos to Instagram on the day of the event, be sure to use the hashtag #ICGrads. Your post may be featured on the video boards and on the livestream during the pre-show!

Public Health and Safety Requirements for Senior Week & Commencement Weekend

Adherence to Ithaca College’s Health, Safety, and Prevention guidelines, as well as the Community Agreement will remain in effect throughout the duration of Senior Week and Commencement celebrations. Please take special note of the following:

  • Daily Health Screening – Should be completed at the beginning of every day regardless of vaccinations status.
  • Surveillance Testing – All individuals who have not submitted documentation of their COVID-19 immunization to the Hammond Health Center at healthcenter@ithaca.edu will be required to continue surveillance testing. This applies for all unvaccinated individuals as well as individuals who are still in the process of completing their full immunization (14 days following final dose in their vaccine series).
  • Physical Distancing – A minimum of six feet of physical distancing should be observed at all times whether on-campus or off-campus in the Ithaca community. This applies to both indoor and outdoor spaces.
  • Face Coverings – Face coverings are always required on campus (exceptions: in your room or in designated dining areas while eating) and in all indoor spaces in the broader Ithaca community.
  • IC Health Badge Issues – If you have questions or are experiencing issues with your IC Health Badge, please contact the Hammond Health Center at healthcenter@ithaca.edu or 607-274-3177 during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EDT Monday-Friday, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. EDT Saturday).

Families and Supporters

Because of our commitment to center our graduating students’ ability to celebrate together as a class and due to our ongoing and necessary compliance with New York State guidelines, we cannot accommodate guests at Commencement or our graduate ceremony. Please note as well that our campus’s COVID-related visitor policy will remain in effect. We ask that your family and guests not access the Ithaca College campus on the day of the event so that we can remain within gathering size limitations and successfully honor our graduates.

We will provide a webcast of both ceremonies for parents and loved ones to be able to share in this special moment, which will include opportunities for family and friends to see and be seen by their graduating student, via Zoom, as they cross the stage.

Campus Store Update

The Ithaca College Campus Bookstore will NOT be open during Commencement Weekend. Check out the online store for graduate specials and order your Bomber gear from convenience of your own home with safe and convenient delivery.
