Asma Barlas gave two talks on her book "Believing Women" in Islam at the invitation of the Los Angeles Latino Muslim Association in L.A. on April 16.

She has also been invited by the Oslo Coalition to present a paper at a conference on "The Changeable and Unchangeable in Islamic Thought and Practice," to be held at Sarajevo on May 7, and by the Snowstar Institute to speak at its annual conference in Canada in July. This summer, the International Center for Islam and Pluralism in Jakarta will host her as a visiting scholar in Indonesia, where her book is being released in an Indonesian translation.
