Hayley Harris was appointed as the Vice President for Human & Organizational Development and Planning at Ithaca College in May 2019. Prior to joining Ithaca College, Harris served in progressively responsible strategic human resources roles at both Yale University and Cornell University. In these roles, she served as a strategic HR partner to campus leaders in advancing the university’s mission by providing comprehensive HR leadership in the areas of talent management, succession planning, recruitment and retention, compensation and classification, employee relations, and organizational development.
Among other accomplishments, Harris served as the campus lead for training, communications and end-user support to implement Workday as Cornell’s new human resources information system; was the HR lead for establishing and developing global operations policies and support at Cornell; and served as the HR lead for the 2014 Cornell presidential search, reporting directly to the Board of Trustees.
At Ithaca College, Harris will be responsible for developing an innovative, collaborative human and organizational development division focused on best practices in contemporary human resources, and serve as a strategic partner to IC’s senior academic and administrative leadership. The division strives to positively impact the life experiences of all members of the campus community, and comprises the functional areas of payroll services, training and development, employee benefits and work/life, student employment, compensation and workforce planning, and talent management.
She earned her B.M. from Boston University and M.Phil. from Yale, and was certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources in 2006.
