The College Television Awards — a national competition recognizing excellence in student video, digital and film work — honored two documentaries created by Ithaca College students.
Fighter by Nature, directed by Jonathan (JP) Keenan ’14 and produced by Rachael Lewis-Krisky ’14, took second. Aryelle Cormier ’13 co-directed the film.
The Provider, directed by Maya Cueva '15, Leah Galant '15 and Peter Quandt '15 took third. Rachel Weinberg ’16 and Kelly Waldo '15 and Erik Jaworski '15 also worked on the film.
The Provider also won best documentary at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, the world’s largest youth film festival, and Fighter by Nature was selected to the shortlist for the 2015 BAFTA US Student Film Awards.
The documentaries were produced to fulfill the capstone requirement of the Documentary Studies and Production program.
College Television Awards entries are judged on excellence in overall production by members of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Foundation. Winners are honored at a gala held in Los Angeles.
