Megan Atchley is a New York based violinist and educator dedicated to creating musical experiences that resonate with her audiences aesthetically, politically and bodily. She loves making and supporting new music and does so in a variety of capacities including as a founding member and operations manager for new music/jazz/hip-hop band ShoutHouse, and frequent performer with various NYC new music ensembles in venues such as Roulette, Le Poisson Rouge, the Bowery Ballroom and Lincoln Center. Megan’s credits as a recording artist include releases on Deutsche Grammophon and New Amsterdam Records.  She is on faculty at Third Street Music School and Girls Prep Middle School, and holds degrees from NYU Steinhardt and Ithaca College.  In addition to music Megan is passionate about feminism, food and Jane Austen novels.
