Daniel Bates has proven himself to be a rising talent in opera and concert work, recognized for his passionate and emotional singing. This season, Daniel makes his international debut with Israeli Opera reprising his critically acclaimed role of the 3rd S.S. Man in The Passenger. He sings Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni with Syracuse Opera, and will perform concerts with Symphoria, Arts at Grace, and the Binghamton Downtown Singers.

Last season, Daniel performed with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Anchorage Opera as Ernesto (Don Pasquale) and as the title role in Candide, the Imperial Symphony Orchestra as Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi), the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes as tenor soloist in their “All about Opera”, and First Coast Opera as Beppe in I Pagliacci and Jay in A Strangers Tale.

Daniel has been a young artist at Florida Grand Opera, the Santa Fe Opera, Shreveport Opera, Opera Saratoga and Utah Festival Opera. He performed the world premiere roles of Junior and Charlie in Cold Mountain at Santa Fe Opera and on the live recording which was nominated for a Grammy.

Daniel has received distinguished awards from the Sullivan Foundation, the Giulio Gari Foundation, the NSAL Vocal Competition, and the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
