Flute (Week 1)

Krysten Geddes holds degrees from Ithaca College (M.M. ’20, B.M. ’18).  During her time at Ithaca College she performed as principal flute of the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra, piccoloist of the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra, and member of the Ithaca College Contemporary Chamber Ensemble. She has appeared as a performer in numerous masterclass including those taught by Susan Milan, Jeffery Khaner, Gary Shocker, and Robert Dick.

Krysten performs regularly in Ithaca and the surrounding area. These performances include appearances with the Fingerlakes Professional Flute Choir, soloist in the Cortland Young Artist’s Showcase, flute/piccolo for SUNY Cortland musicals as well as a member of pit orchestras for area high school & college productions. She also has a successful freelancing career playing for weddings and events.

An avid educator, Krysten offers flute lessons to all ages and abilities in person or through online platforms. While her teaching is firmly based in traditional classical performance, she encourages her students to pursue music that interests them and works to build individual learning plans to meet each student’s musical goals.
