Joel Staub

Counselor, Violin

My name is Joel Staub, and I am absolutely ecstatic to be joining the team of counselors for SMA this year. I am rising sophomore, violinist in Ithaca’s Music Education program.

This will be my first year as a counselor, but I participated in the camp myself back in 2018. Without a doubt, my favorite memory from SMA was any of the rehearsal time with Dr. James Mick. We heard stories about cycling with watermelons, lots of dad jokes, and he showed up one morning with a golden fanny pack which was the cherry on top of everything else.

When I’m not practicing or doing homework, you can find me spending time with my friends, playing video games, or singing show tunes. My favorite ice cream flavor has to be black raspberry even though I am not a big fan of fruity flavors. I can’t wait to see you all at camp this year!
