Frequently Asked Questions

When does the Dean’s Host program take place?

The Dean's Host program takes place during any two weekdays from March 27, 2023 to May 1, 2023. Earlier dates may be possible on a case-by-case basis.

How long will I be at Ithaca College?

Approximately 24 hours. Students usually arrive late in the afternoon, spend the night and most of the next day with their student hosts, and then leave later that day.

What if I can't stay for a full overnight visit?

Let us know that information when you register for Dean's Host. We are happy to accommodate day visits, when necessary.

When should I sign up?

Please provide at least one week notice so we can plan your visit.

Why should I sign up?

Dean's Host is a great way to experience what it is like to be a student at Ithaca College and in the Center for Music so you can make the most informed decision possible about where you would like to spend the next four years.

How do I sign up for the Dean's Host Program?

An online registration form will be provided soon to sign up!

What if I'm also interested in participating in Ithaca Today?

  • You are welcome to attend the Ithaca Today program in addition to the Dean's Host program. Please be aware that Ithaca Today is a college-wide open house.
  • Accepted students who are looking for an in-depth experience in the Center for Music are strongly encouraged to register for the Dean's Host program.
  • Because the Dean's Host program occurs during the week, it typically is not possible to attend both Ithaca Today and the Dean's Host program during the same visit.

Is it safe to stay on campus with a host student?

Absolutely! All of our student volunteers are required to agree to a code of conduct while hosting prospective students. This includes an agreement to not transport students in vehicles, not take students off campus, and not consume/provide drugs or alcohol while visiting.
