Jiawei Chen
Jiawei Chen studies innovation, corporate finance, regulation, and information asymmetry. His research has been recognized by a list of conferences, including MFA, FMA, SFA, SWFA, and more. Jiawei has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Financial Research, Applied Finance Letters, and others.
John Crawford
John Crawford completed his undergraduate and master’s degrees at St. Bonaventure University and pursued his doctoral studies at Wilmington University. He spent the last 12 years as an assistant professor of finance and accounting at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. Prior to this, John worked six years in corporate finance for a publicly traded company, Dresser-Rand Co.
Ali Talcott
Ali Talcott comes from Columbus, Ohio and Ohio State University, where she earned a PhD. She also worked in campus recreation at Ohio State, focused on programming and communication. Her research has centered on the health and well-being outcomes of campus recreation for students and professional staff.
Lance Warwick
Lance Warwick is a researcher and educator in the area of sport ecology. His teaching focuses on sport marketing, encouraging students to think about how sport can be used to engage people on social issues. Lance is completing his PhD at the University of Illinois and is from Caledon, Ontario.
Arjang Attar Shoustari
Arjang Attar Shoushtari joins Ithaca College as a faculty member in Marketing, with research interests in brand loyalty, consumer psychology, and digital marketing. He holds a bachelor’s degree in software engineering, an MBA, and a PhD in marketing from Old Dominion University.
Justine Beiler Weber
Justine is an ecologist who studies conservation practice in wetlands. She has been teaching for nearly 20 years in roles ranging from high school science teacher to park ranger to college professor. Justine is delighted to join IC’s faculty and looks forward to engaging with students in classes and research.
Jeong Yeon Lee
Jeon Yeon Lee is an incoming assistant professor in the Department of Literatures in English. He received his PhD from Yale University. His research focuses on apocalypse and African American literature. The first musical Jeong Yeon saw was Spring Awakening, and he is excited to see IC’s version!
Cheng Chen
Cheng Chen explores global urbanism, infrastructure, and urban systems across Africa, Asia, and the U.S., blending history, urban studies, and design to foster equity and innovation. Outside work, he’s a marathon, triathlon, and ultra-trail runner, freeride skier, home chef, and proud husky dad.
Amanda McGee
Amanda McGee earned her Ph.D. in History from the University of Arkansas. Her research examines how geography, slavery, and the law intersected after Pennsylvania's 1780 Gradual Abolition Act to shape the state's "free state" identity. Dr. McGee is thrilled to be joining IC, an institution that prioritizes meaningful learning, collaborative education, and student success.
Michael Gorup
Michael Gorup joins Ithaca College from New College of Florida, where he served as assistant professor of political science. His research examines democracy, race, and capitalism, with a focus on the United States. He is excited to return to his home state and develop a variety of courses on U.S. politics and law for the excellent students at IC.
Sabreen NoorAli
Sabreen NoorAli brings a global lens and deep commitment to equity in communication sciences and disorders. Trained in Pakistan, she holds a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and has extensive clinical experience across a range of pediatric and adult communication disorders.
Annaliese Parker '89
Annaliese Parker worked as a speech pathologist before joining the faculty at Ithaca College. She holds a BA in Speech-Language Pathology from IC and and Masters Degree in Communication Disorders Sciences and Services from Penn State University.
Ísis Jarnicki deCarvalho
Ísis Jarnicki de Carvalho is a spinto soprano, voice instructor, and director from Brazil. Dr. Carvalho enjoys curating collaborative recitals in diverse styles, genres, languages, and cultural traditions. She is committed to championing the performance of works by women composers from the 19th to the 21st centuries and promoting accessible attendance experiences for all audiences.
Nicolas Chuaqui
Nicolas Chuaqui is a dedicated and passionate teacher of composition and technology. He holds a doctorate in composition from the Eastman School of Music and also holds degrees from Indiana University and Dartmouth College. In addition to teaching and composing, Nicolas takes an active role in the performance of new music.
Miguel Flores
Miguel Flores, a CSULA music graduate, has over 25 years in theatre, opera, and dance. Formerly a high school music teacher, he’s held production roles nationwide, including at North Shore Music Theatre, MIT, and The Huntington. He continues to freelance as a PSM for opera, dance, and events.
Robin Guiver
Robin Guiver is an actor, movement director, and educator with 20+ years in theatre, film, and TV. A War Horse original cast member, he’s worked on major productions like Star Wars and Wicked, taught internationally, and now brings his expertise to Ithaca College to inspire the next generation.
Julie Liston Johnson
Julie Liston Johnson is an acclaimed American soprano celebrated for her rich timbre and versatility across opera, concert, and recital. A Juilliard and UNT graduate, she’s performed at Carnegie Hall and abroad, taught at top institutions, and champions both classical and music theatre in performance, teaching, and scholarship.
Julia Hamilton-Louey
Julia Hamilton-Louey returns to Ithaca College, where she previously served as visiting assistant professor of musicology (2023–24). As an NEH Fellow and Visiting Scholar at Eastman, she advanced her research on music, gender, and antislavery politics. Her book project, Musical Abolitionism, explores British song in abolitionist movements.
Amanda Morton ’04
Amanda Morton, an award-winning music director, writer, and educator, has worked on Broadway and at major regional theaters. A 2023 Pew Fellow, she’s developing Wishing To Grow Up Brightly , exploring her Korean American identity. An Ithaca College alum, she mentors with MUSE and serves as music director for Crazy Rich Asians.
Luis Gallo Quintero
Luis Gallo Quintero is a Colombian oboist and educator who performs with top ensembles across Florida and Georgia. A prizewinning chamber musician with Civitasolis Reed Quintet, he’s played internationally and led masterclasses in the U.S. and Colombia. He holds degrees from FSU and Northwestern State University of Louisiana.
Clara Warnaar
Clara Warnaar, NYC-based percussionist and composer, performs with Contemporary Ensemble and on Broadway. She premieres new works by leading composers and appears on major film soundtracks. An educator at top summer programs, Clara mentors emerging composers and holds degrees from Manhattan School of Music and Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
Asher Wulfman
Asher Wulfman, violinist and violist based in Ithaca, performs with Syracuse and Cayuga orchestras, Opera Ithaca, and Cornell’s Ensemble X. A champion of new music, he teaches at Cornell and Opus Ithaca. He holds a master’s from USC Thornton and lives near Cascadilla Gorge with his partner.
Farida Abdul-Wahab ’11
Farida Abdul-Wahab Park School alumna and founder of STUDIO 218, is a TV executive and producer. She’s worked with Disney, CAA, and Scott Free, producing for Netflix, Apple, and HBO Max. Farida holds an MFA from USC and mentors emerging talent at USC and South African Film Academy.
Walter Colley
Walter Colley, award-winning commercial photographer, joins IC after 11 years teaching at RIT. He holds an MFA from SUNY Brockport and a BFA from RIT. His work has appeared in Communication Arts and Graphis. Walter is passionate about linking professional practice with student learning in photography.
Max Fuller
Max Fuller holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and studies how journalism, sport, ethnicity, and labor intersect in American culture. His research centers on identity formation and historical media analysis, contributing to a more inclusive understanding of journalism and sport in the U.S.
Lara Carmen Hidalgo Lyon
Lara Carmen Hidalgo Lyon is an interdisciplinary artist and educator whose work spans photography, film, poetry, and livce production. She earned her BFA from NYU and her MFA from Bard College. Her artwork is held in major collections including Yale, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts. She brings years of teaching and industry experience from New York City.
Alaric Rocha
Alaric Rocha is a filmmaker and educator whose work blends genre storytelling with art house style. He holds an MFA in Digital Cinema from DePaul and has taught directing, screenwriting, and Mexican film history. His films have screened at Sitges, Morbido, and Chicago International. He champions student voice through storytelling.
Ashley R. Smith
Ashley R. Smith has a PhD from Northwestern University in Screen Cultures and a MA in Cinema Studies from NYU. Her work looks at race, representation and identity in media- specifically in horror cinema. Dr. Smith has taught at Northwestern, DePaul and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is working on a book project about portrayals of monstrous whiteness in postwar American horror.
