Building Hours

During session, The Center for Music closes at 1AM Sunday through Thursday, and at midnight Friday and Saturday.

If you are trying to access the building after 10:30PM, you will need to use your ID card to enter the building.

Practice Rooms

The Center for Music has over 70 practice rooms for student use. To ensure fair and appropriate access:

  • Practice rooms should be reserved through 25Live before use. Instructions can be found here: Express Scheduling | Series25 Help and Customer Resources
  • Students may reserve up to 3 hours total per day, with a maximum of 2 hours per single session.
  • Some rooms are restricted by Major:
    • Grand Piano Rooms are reservable by piano majors only. Upright Piano Rooms are open to non-pianists.
    • Percussion Rooms are reservable by percussion majors only.
  • For any issues reserving practice rooms through 25live, please contact Zachary McDonald at zmcdonald@ithaca.edu.

Larger Rehearsal & Coaching Rooms

  • Designed for chamber ensemble rehearsals and coaching sessions.
  • Reserve these spaces (any room in the building except individual practice rooms) by using 25Live. These rooms are not set up for express scheduling and require review and approval. Please submit room requests at least two weeks in advance.

Lost and Found

A lost and found bin is kept inside the 3301 student workroom (which also features a printer, hole punch, and more!). We ask that more expensive lost items be brought to the Music Office (JJWCM 3322) near the third-floor lounge. To report a missing item or drop off a found item, please drop by or call (607) 274-3717. You may also want to check with the Office of Public Safety at (607) 274-3333.
