Advice from Dr. Truesdell
When choosing repertoire for your IC audition, it is important to choose pieces that demonstrate the best of your ability right now. Please try to choose your repertoire wisely, work on it for a few months and perform it for your family and friends many times before you record.
We would rather not hear something you’ve been working on for more than one year, or less than a few weeks - we want to hear your best ability right now.
I have given suggestions above for possible composers and pieces, but that is by no means fixed. If you have another piece that demonstrates your ability accurately and you are passionate about, we would like to hear that piece.
