Tips for Synchronous Hybrid Teaching

You may be teaching some or all of your spring 2021 classes in a hybrid online/F2F format, with some students in your physical classroom and others on Zoom. Everyone understands the importance of creating an equitable experience for students across both modalities, but figuring out how to do it can feel overwhelming. Of course, you're not alone.

LinkedIn Learning Feedback: Faculty Survey

The Ithaca College Information Technology Advisory Council is reviewing the use of LinkedIn Learning as part of an evaluation of cost savings related to software services. We would like to gain a better understanding of how faculty are using the tool for academic purposes.

Please fill out this short survey by Wednesday, February 10th to let us know how LinkedIn Learning is being used in your classroom. Participation in this survey is anonymous and should not take more than 5-minutes of your time.

If you have any questions or would like to provide additional information, please contact Dr. Jenna Linskens, Director, Learning & Innovative Technologies by email

Adding a Zoom link in Sakai

Faculty who wish to add Zoom directly to their Sakai class can do so using the Sakai tools. Once the tool is added, the Zoom meeting(s) will need to be scheduled directly through the Zoom tool. If there are any previously scheduled meetings that you would like to add, you can easily import them to your list using the meeting ID. For detailed directions including step-by-step directions and screenshots view the Using the Zoom Tool in Sakai help article (Netpass ID login required) in the IT Service Portal.

An additional $150K in loaner laptops for students available soon!

The college is acquiring over 60 Dell and Apple laptops to be used as loaner machines for students. Some of these machines will be available for check-out for a 3-hour short-term loan from a new laptop kiosk that will be placed in the Campus Center later this semester. Others will be available for long-term loans that students can apply for through their Dean’s office.  These new loaner laptops were made possible through donations to the IC Annual Fund: Student Technology Access campaign held in December by the Office of Philanthropy and Engagement in partnership with Information Technology.
