Prospective student employees must attend one information session to apply. If you attended an info session in a previous semester, it is highly encouraged but not required to attend another this semester to learn about our current open positions.

The IT hiring process moves very quickly. We will communicate all hiring information through your Ithaca College email, so be sure to check it frequently. If you have any questions about the process or your scheduled interviews, please email Robyn Leary at itstudentemploy@ithaca.edu.

Information Sessions

Attend one information session to apply:

  • Tuesday, 10/8 from 12:10-1:00pm in Friends 210
  • Monday, 10/14 from 6:00pm-7:00pm in Taughannock Falls Room (3rd Floor of Campus Center)
  • Monday, 10/21 from 7:00-8:00pm in Friends 309
  • Tuesday, 10/22 from 12:10-1:00pm in Friends 210

Application

  • Fill out our online application by Wednesday, October 23rd at 12:00pm noon.
  • A resume and cover letter are encouraged, but not required.

Interviews

First Interview

  • Applicants will be notified via email whether or not they have been selected for an interview on or before Friday, October 25th.
  • If selected, call and schedule an appointment to interview with a Student Manager or Student Coordinator Assistant
  • Interviews last approximately 30 minutes
  • First round interviews will be conducted Tuesday, October 29th - Thursday, October 31st between 5:30-9:00pm

Second Interview

  • Applicants will be notified via email whether or not they have been selected for a second interview on or before Monday, November 4th
  • If selected, call and schedule an appointment to interview with a full time area supervisor by Friday, November 8th
  • Interviews last approximately 30 minutes
  • You may be selected to interview with two full time area supervisors, but will only be offered one position within IT
  • Second round interviews will be conducted Tuesday, November 12th - Thursday, November 14th between 9:00am and 5:00pm.

Hiring Decisions

  • We will contact all references
  • Please use an IC faculty or staff member if possible, or a previous employer
  • It is best practice to ask the person if they are willing to serve as a reference before listing them on your application
  • Applicants will be notified whether or not they have been offered a position with IT on or before Friday, November 22nd
  • Hired applicants must email job acceptance forms to Robyn Leary, Student Services Manager at itstudentemploy@ithaca.edu and must also attend an NSEP session through the Student Employment Office (if they have not worked on campus before)

Training

  • Hired applicants must attend new hire training before the semester begins, starting Wednesday, January 15th, 2020
  • Training dates are subject to change, but typically training begins the Wednesday before the semester begins in August, and the Wednesday before the semester begins in January

NSEP Sessions

  • Sign up for an NSEP session if you have not had a job on campus before.
  • You can only attend an NSEP session once you are offered a job.
  • You must attend an NSEP session prior to IT New Hire training.
