Join us on Wednesday, May 1, for a lively discussion with alumnus Randy Christian entitled, “From South Hill to Singapore: A Career in Human Resources.

Randy will reflect on his time at IC and how it shaped his career path.  Event will take place in BUS 111 at 7 p.m.

Randy retired from Johnson & Johnson (J&J), a global health care corporation, last year after a 30-year career.  For almost all of that time, he was a member of J&J’s corporate staff and worked in both the Human Resources and Law departments.

Randy's responsibilities were primarily in the areas of compensation and benefits program design, human resources information systems, employment practices litigation support, and employee data analysis.  At the time of his retirement, he was the Director of Employee Analytics.

For most of his J&J years, Radndy's responsibilities involved global programs (worldwide, J&J has ~ 120,000 employees in 250 companies in 60 countries).  From 2007 – 2010, he was on an expatriate assignment, living in Singapore.

Randy's principal charge there were to establish a regional total rewards (compensation and benefits) specialist group to support J&J's businesses in Asia-Pacific, encompassing 20,000 employees in 55 companies in 15 countries.  Randy traveled extensively within the region for over 2 ½ years, worked closely with local company management in all locations, and hired staff in Shanghai, Sydney, Tokyo and Mumbai.
