The first line of defense against fire is prevention and preparedness! What should you do to prevent a fire from occurring? How do you prepare in case a fire breaks out?

There are many ways to prevent fire and prepare just in case. The following are some general tips:

  • Install smoke alarms inside each bedroom
  • Make a home escape plan
  • Do not use the dryer without a lint filter
  • Never leave your grill unattended

Don’t forget to come for more tips about Fire Safety and Extinguishing on Monday June 10, 2013 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm in the Peggy R. Williams Center, HR Conference Room GL052.  Timothy Ryan, Manager from the Environmental Health and Safety Department, will teach us the importance of fire safety and how to use a fire extinguisher with a live demonstration.
