Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS)

The Payment Card Industry has issued a set of standards for which all organizations that store, process, or transmit credit card data must comply. These standards are called Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). These standards place additional responsibilities on college departments which accept payment cards in person, via mail order or telephone order, and via eCommerce.

Ithaca College departments which accept credit cards (known as campus merchants) must comply with PCI DSS in order to accept credit cards.
